For Girls At Home
Sylvia’s Sisters partners with Communities in Schools in Richmond and surrounding counties to collect and distribute disposable feminine hygiene products to area schools.
We work with local businesses, community service groups, and school groups to organize product drives and donations for additional products to distribute to these girls and their families.
Did you realize that necessities like pads and tampons are not covered by SNAP or other assistance programs? Girls are missing school and experiencing social and health issues due to a lack of adequate menstrual hygiene supplies. Schools under increasingly tight budgets cannot meet this ongoing and significant need.
We work with girls clubs to talk about menstruation and being prepared for the unexpected accidents that can happen once menstruation starts.
Donations + Distribution Events
We speak and work with local businesses, community service organizations, and school groups to organize product drives and donations then distribute these to girls in need.
